The new website of the Graduate Program in Oncology and Medical Sciences (PPGOCM) at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) is now available. The page was developed from a standard template, using usability and portability criteria.

The “New Strategies in Cancer Treatment” lecture held by the visiting professor from the Research Center for Oncology, Professor Gregory Riggins of John Hopkins University of the United States of America, was presented on January 4th to close out the 1st international Meeting on Oncology Research.

 

On the 3rd of December, during the 1st International Meeting on Oncology Research, the “Cancer Models” lecture was held lectured by Professor Tuula Salo, from Oulu University of Finland.

 

 

Yet on December 1st at 1st International Meeting on Oncology Research, was held the lecture "Copy Number Variation (CNVs): Importance in Cancer Research". This was done by researcher Kosyakova Nadezda, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, in Germany.

The 1st International Meeting on Oncology Research, on 1 December, was held the lecture Supernumerary Markers: An Update, by Professor Thomas Liehr, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, in Germany.

The day November 26, continued the course "Update in Hereditary Tumor", at the 1st International Meeting on Oncology Research. The course that day was taught by Professor Patricia Prolla, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).

To alert and discuss about cancer, the graduate program in Oncology and medical sciences (PPGOCM) of the Center for Oncology Research (NPO), of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), will hold the 1st International Meeting on Oncology Research (1st international meeting on Cancer Research). The event begins on 17 November and pursuing activities in alternate dates to December 04 in NPO, located on the street of the Munduruku, 4487, Guamá, Bethlehem-PA. Registration closed.

The meeting will be taught in English and Portuguese and will participate in students, teachers and professionals, such as doctors, nurses, biomedical, dentists and biologists. Among the topics covered, "chronic lymphoblastic leukemia diagnosis by MLPA", "new strategies in the treatment of cancer", "advanced topics in neuro-oncology", "national cancer family Network" and "supernumeraries Markers: an update".
